On 26th July 2018, World Intellectual Property (IP) Day is celebrated worldwide. Ennoble IP took this great opportunity to get people interested in issues relating to intellectual property. This year to honor the women who make a change in the society, a theme was created on “Powering change: Women in innovation and creativity”.
The 2018 World Intellectual Property Day campaign celebrates the brilliance, ingenuity, curiosity and courage of the women who are driving change in our world and shaping our common future. It is an opportunity to highlight how the IP system can support innovative and creative women in their quest to bring their amazing ideas to market.
Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Union Minister of Science and technology and Earth Sciences was the Chief Guest at the event organized at New Delhi with Anurag Batra, Chairman of BusinessWorld who gave the keynote address. There were also major dignitaries from various government organizations and renowned entrepreneurs from different industries.
On this occasion, they decided to honor women who have come up with life-changing ideas to help eradicate everyday problems with innovations. Among the few women entrepreneurs and innovators who were felicitated at this event, Founder of Infertility Dost, Ms. Gitanjali Banerjee was honored by Ennoble IP, Startup India and DST, India for initiating a startup that helped to fight with the social stigma surrounding infertility issues and help women to get the right kind of treatment they deserve.
Infertility is a taboo subject to speak about in India, especially among the great Indian middle class. Infertility Dost is breaking the silence and disrupting the laid conventions by being bold and demanding a change of perspective. Ms. Gitanjali Banerjee was recognized as an innovator for breaking the barriers in the society about the infertility problems and for taking social initiatives to support the cause.
Currently, Infertility Dost has extended its support to over 5000 women all over India who are dealing with fertility issues.
